The State of Franklin Chapter, NSDAR, hosted the 13th Annual "Ringing of the Bells" ceremony at Oak Hill School in Jonesborough, Tennessee

Musket Volley
On Sunday, September 13, 2026, the State of Franklin Chapter, NSDAR, hosted the 13th Annual "Ringing of the Bells" ceremony at Oak Hill School in Jonesborough, Tennessee. The event commemorated the 239th anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution and highlighted the Sixth Amendment.
Welcoming and introductory remarks were provided by Allyson Wilkinson, Librarian of the State of Franklin Chapter, NSDAR. The invocation was offered by Gina Clark, Member at Large, NSDAR.
Presentation of the Colors was provided by members of the Kings Mountain Chapter, NSSAR; Watauga Chapter, NSSAR; Overmountain Victory Trail Association; and Long Island Chapter, NSDAR.
Susan Reid, Regent of the Ann Robertson Chapter, NSDAR, led the Pledge of Allegiance. Cassidy Brown served as soloist for the National Anthem. Heather Kunysz, Vice Regent of the State of Franklin Chapter, NSDAR, led the Salute to the Tennessee Flag, and Susan Jackson, Treasurer of the State of Franklin Chapter, NSDAR, led the gathering in reciting The American's Creed.
Washington County Sheriff Keith Sexton presented a program on "The Sixth Amendment."
The program continued with the traditional one-minute ringing of the bells, followed by the presentation of wreaths by participating NSDAR and NSSAR chapters and the Overmountain Victory Trail Association.
The ceremony concluded with a musket salute by members of the Kings Mountain and Watauga Chapters, NSSAR, and the Long Island Chapter, NSDAR.
