Richard “Dick” Alan Linn (September 29, 1941 - March 2, 2026), 84, of Baileyton, TN went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 2nd, 2026. Richard passed with loved ones by his side after a brief illness.
Richard, born September 29th, 1941, was the son of James Nathan and Sara Gertrude (Null) Linn of Washington, PA.
A 1963 graduate of Waynesburg College in Pennsylvania, his occupational endeavors focused on serving others. He served as assistant manager and youth counselor for YMCA’s in Washington, PA and Carlisle, PA. Richard went on to be Superintendent of Pennsylvania State Parks, including Black Moshannon, Curwensville, Sizerville, Sinnemahoning, Gifford Pinchot, Denton Hill, Lyman Run, Prouty, Patterson, and Cherry Springs. He served 21 years in city government as Borough Manager of Port Allegany, PA, Village Administrator in Cooperstown, NY, and City Manager of Neptune Beach, FL. Upon retiring from the public sector, Richard and his wife Patricia purchased and operated an RV park & campground in Baileyton, TN, returning him to the camping style of life he grew up with in the Boy Scouts, YMCA, and state parks, as well as a personal enjoyment carried on with his family.
With over five decades of service to freemasonry, Richard was a member of Lodge #580 F&AM Masonic Lodge Austin (PA), Eulalia Lodge #342, serving as worshipful master, Coudersport Consistory and Commandery, and Baileyton Masonic Lodge #520. He was also a member of the Jericho Shriners in Kingsport, TN and the Kings Mountain, TN chapter of Sons of the American Revolution (SAR).
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by sisters Carol Gertrude Huddleston and Margaret Katherine King. Survivors are his wife of 45 years, Patricia Rukgaber Linn, son James Garth Linn of Atlantic Beach, FL, daughter Cassandra Linn Ruff (Erik) of Concord, NC, son Alan Hunter Linn of Jacksonville, FL, grandson Ethan Charles Ruff and granddaughter Ella Joy Ruff, and brother James Hugh Linn of Port St. Lucie, FL.

Nicholas "Nick" Andreas Addington (December 27, 1994 - December 29, 2025) of Jefferson, SC - Mr. Nicholas “Nick” Andreas Addington, age 31, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Atrium Health – Union. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the White Plains Golf Club Venue, where friends and family will gather to share memories and honor his life. The family will greet friends following the service and other times at their home.
Nick was born on December 27, 1994, in Knoxville, TN. He was the son of Carol Ann Rollings Carroll and the late Michael Scott Addington. A proud graduate of Central High School in 2013, Nick excelled as the first trumpet in the Central High Marching Band. He furthered his education at Lander University, studying computer programming, and began his career in the IT department at the university. His professional career included positions at various companies, including Inside Sales for 3F Manufacturing, Conbraco Industries, Cross Country Adjusting in Pageland, White Plains Golf Course, Advanced Auto Parts in Pageland, and McColl Thomas Contractors for Sandhill Telephone as an engineer. Most recently, he was pursuing his goal of becoming a Behavioral Health Technician to work with special needs children.
Nick was fondly known for his kindness and his ability to bring joy to others with his thoughtful nature and warm hugs. Passionate about magic, he enjoyed performing card tricks and creating new friendships surrounding them. A connoisseur of learning, Nick had an enduring interest in theology and religion. He possessed a remarkable talent for playing various musical instruments, especially his electric guitar. He could strike up a conversation in Spanish with a chicken and carry on conversation for hours.
An avid gamer, he enjoyed participating in communities surrounding games like World of Warcraft and was known for his zest for life, which included attending Rave parties and forming meaningful connections with new friends. Nick was truly one of a kind and genuinely loved those who loved him.
In addition to his father, Nick was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Carroll “Catfish” Rollings, and his cherished dog, “Chubbs.”

Nathaniel Clay Shelton (January 15, 1994 — November 6, 2025) 31, of Gray, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
Clay was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, and attended Sullivan Central High School. He had a quiet spirit and a kind heart, the kind of person who might not say much at first, but once he got to know you, he could talk for hours. Clay had a deep love for his family and friends and was happiest when spending time with those he cared about.
He loved music and could always be found listening to his favorite songs. He enjoyed playing video games, working on cars, and relaxing with his loyal dog, Thor, who was his constant companion.
Clay was preceded in death by his mother, Victoria Shelton; grandmother, Emma Lee Shelton; grandparents, Roger and Dorothy Lowry; uncle, Joe Lowry; and cousin, Alizabeth Grace Shelton.

James Edward Briddell (April 12, 1939 — January 8, 2024), 84, died Monday, January 8, 2024 after a brief illness. James was born April 12, 1939 in Roanoke, VA, the son of the late William Creston Briddell and Nellie Irma Brooks Briddell. James graduated from Episcopal High School in Alexandria, VA and the University of Virginia, where he earned his BS degree in Chemical Engineering. He married Rebecca Shelor in 1967 in Lynchburg, VA and moved to Kingsport where he spent his entire career as a research chemical engineer for Tennessee Eastman. James served as Director of the Netherland Inn/Exchange Place board for 3 years. He was a member Emeritus of the National Sons of the American Revolution since 1961. James held various offices in the local Kings Mountain chapter and in the Tennessee state organization. James was a model railroad enthusiast with a keen interest in historical English trains. He and Rebecca were longtime members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kingsport. James served on the vestry and was president of the Men’s Club. He was a frequent usher and he cooked pancakes on Ash Wednesday and hamburgers at Pentecost. He always lent a helping hand with special church services, community outreach, and Habitat for Humanity work projects.
James is survived by his wife, Rebecca; brother, John (Esther); nephews, Andrew (Beth) and Matthew (Tim); great nieces, Nora and Catherine; and great nephew Jacob.
A Memorial service will be at St. Paul's Episcopal church on Friday, August 2, 2024 . The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.

He was a strong advocate and supporter of our mission. All who were blessed to know him enjoyed his engaging lectures, incredible knowledge, and his humble and sweet spirit.
In addition to his work here, he was a recognized lecturer and educator throughout central and eastern Europe for more than 30 years and was an ordained minister, serving in congregations in Oklahoma, Kansas, and North Carolina.

John Fred Olive III (October 6, 1955 – February 1, 2024) Preceded in death by his parents, John Olive, II and Fay Olive, Fred is survived by several cousins and many close friends. Fred was born on Oct. 6, 1955 and spent all of his professional life in education and genealogical research. He was Head of Educational Technology Services for over 25 years at the University of Alabama Birmingham before retiring as Interim Director of Library Services for the University. Fred became a member of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) in 1976 and found his passion in life. He held numerous offices at the local, state, and national levels and was active in many committees within SAR. Most recently he served as Librarian General for the National SAR. Fred was community-service minded and held several different positions relating to genealogical and historical research. He loved his church, was active in many roles, and served as a greeter to ensure you knew you were welcome and loved. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 19th at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time for the service at Vestavia Hills Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL.
Fred was a dual member of the Kings Mountain Chapter living in Alabama.
He has been Librarian General of the NSSAR for the past three years and has attended our Annual TNSSAR State Meetings the past two years.
